As I've written before, it is challenging to find scenes which are interesting enough on large scales to justify a wide angle lens. The dawn over the cove below Fort Hill was one of these rare scenes. I hiked around the hill using a flashlight for half an hour looking for an interesting perspective, until I eventually descended the hill and walked right up to the water's edge. There I found a classic landscape scene with a compelling foreground that draws you into a majestic backdrop. And it cost me only a few mosquito bites for my trouble.
Below is the google street view image of this scene.
